Mahmoud Rabie, Clinical Director for Ophthalmology Mr. Mahmoud Rabie is the Clinical Director for Ophthalmology and a Consultant Ophthalmologist at CHEC. With extensive expertise in cataract surgery, managing retinal disorders, performing retinal surgeries, and handling complex cataract cases, he plays a key role in shaping ophthalmic services, advancing clinical training, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. His leadership at CHEC spans across multiple centres, where he is instrumental in developing innovative pathways for patient care. Mr. Rabie’s career in ophthalmology reflects his unwavering dedication, surgical expertise, and passion for innovation. After earning his medical degree in 2005, he undertook extensive training in ophthalmic disorders and surgeries, further honing his abilities through numerous fellowships and advanced clinical programs, including the completion of the Board of Ophthalmology FABO certification. His training focused on general ophthalmology, cataract, retinal disorders and surgeries, where he gained extensive experience managing complex cases. He later completed additional fellowships in retinal surgery in different countries, further expanding his expertise in both medical and surgical retina.
