    • Cross iconTotal dysphagia
    • Cross iconPolyps larger than 1cm

When referring via e-RS, please select the relevant CHEC location on the e-RS system.

All patients referred to CHEC for endoscopy are triaged and undergo a pre-assessment prior to their procedure. This process ensures clinical suitability for treatment within a community setting and allows for safe, effective care planning

Important note for referrals: We do not accept Two -week -wait (2ww) referrals Patients requiring urgent cancer pathway investigations must be referred directly to secondary care

Please note, when referring Renal function eGFR requirement for colonoscopy patients

For patients aged 65 and over, an eGFR result must be available within 3 months of the colonoscopy date

An eGFR may also be required for younger patients with risk factors:

· Anyone with significant cardiac history

· Anyone with significant history of Renal function

· Anyone with significant bowel surgery within the last 12 months

· Anyone with acute sever colitis.

· Diabetes

· Use of nephrotic medication
